The very first project of Among the Ants.

At Among the Ants we believe that exchange of practices, experience and contacts is the better way to promote outdoor arts / art in public spaces / street art. For that purpose, our very first initiative in 2010 was this meeting, between sector experts from France and Greece. Together with French Institute Athens we were the hosts to a conference day on the future of the sector, its importance, challenges (legal, bureaucratic, economic etc) but also the prospect to form a European framework that can support the artists to experiment, creative and engage more with the public space.

The theatre in the city. Nikos Hatzipapas, artistic director of Athens International Street Theatre Festival (ISTFest) on how the theatre shapes citizen’s thoughts, aesthetic, and ways of interaction.

ArtLocus. A talk by ArtLocus’ artistic director Elena Vogli, on the importance of creative projects happening in the public space.

Promenade 0 – a walk to point zero. Eekuipoiz perfoncance duo (Marion Renard and Christos Kaoukis) present a lecture theatre performance on the essence of public space: its’ collective, vibrant, cinematic value.

Συνάντηση με θέμα την τέχνη του δρόμου όπου Έλληνες και ευρωπαίοι επαγγελματίες κλήθηκαν να συζητήσουν για το μέλλον των τεχνών του δρόμου και την προοπτική δημιουργίας μίας κοινής πλατφόρμας επικοινωνίας και ανταλλαγών ανάμεσα σε ελληνικά και ευρωπαϊκά δίκτυα και οργανισμούς.

Το καλωσόρισμα έκανε η διευθύντρια του Γαλλικού Ινστιτούτου Αθηνών Catherine Suard. Η Elena Dapporto, αρμόδια για θέματα τσίρκου και θεάτρου δρόμου του Γαλλικού Υπουργείου Πολιτισμού μίλησε για την πολιτιστική αξία των τεχνών του δρόμου καθώς και για τα πολλαπλά –οικονομικά, εκπαιδευτικά και κοινωνικά- οφέλη που έχει αποκομίσει η γαλλική κοινωνία από την προώθηση, χρηματοδότηση και προβολή των τεχνών του δρόμου. Το δεύτερο μέρος ήταν αφιερωμένο στην παρουσίαση φορέων καθώς και καλλιτεχνών που δραστηριοποιούνται στον τομέα των Τεχνών του Δρόμου στην Ελλάδα.

Στα πλαίσια της πρωτοβουλίας για την ενίσχυση και προβολή των Τεχνών του Δρόμου πραγματοποιήθηκε έκθεση φωτογραφίας με τίτλο «Αστική Τέχνη» με φωτογραφίες του Δημήτρη Θεοδόση στο Bistro Paris του Γαλλικού Ινστιτούτου.
